Kim' s 4 th Aberdeen fundraiser ..another huge success!

There were lots of yummy treats to choose from, all made by Kim, Pam and Heather. Who could resist a sugar high on a beautiful Saturday morning?

And the grand total for the fundraiser this year is.....$810 !!
Wow..what a great boost to our team total, which now stands at $2350. We have passed the $40,000 mark as we go into our 7th year of Team Crazy Legs!

Our 2012 fundraising has begun!

Thank you Heather for kicking off our team fundraising with a Mario Cart tournament on November 26. A small but very enthusiastic crowd enjoyed an evening of racing with Katelyn beating out Matt for the prizes!

$60 was raised plus an extra donation from a no show..and more importantly ...raising public awareness!

Heather and Matt are planning another event in the spring...when Katelyn can defend her title!
 

Also, fundraising is ongoing with bottle returns.Thanks for the idea, Terri..it's amazing how all of that adds up. Every little bit gets us to  top team each year!

It's Official!! We are Top Fredericton team again!

We had a beautiful day for the MS Walk 2011! Thanks to all our hard work we raised $8426, which makes our 6 year total $38,022. We look great in our new  T-shirts, too!!
Now after a rest ( and a wedding..Megan and Chris!) we are getting set to start our 2012 efforts!

Thanks to a flurry of weekend fundraising by Team Crazy Legs , we are now at  

                               $6087.50

I have included in the total any amounts that team members have sent me , so if you haven't updated me, please do so! Our total might be higher than we think!

Team shirts have arrived and are super nice and cheerful! Let's  hope for a sunny day to go along with the yellow shirts!

Kim Rocks her Aberdeen Towers Fundrasing!!

 

 On Saturday May 14 Kim hosted her third annual Dessert/Coffee fundraiser. We made the amazing treats ( nothing low- fat there ) and this year went with the times and used our Keurigs to do the tea and coffee. Worked out very well. Kim had received about $500 in donations before the day arrived so we weren't sure if we would have a good turn-out, but it was amazing! For 2 hours the room was full of chatter and people getting sugar highs! At the end of the event Kim had raised $875  for Team Crazy Legs!! We were a little overcome by the  generous amounts that people gave. It seems everyone knows one or two people with MS, way too common a disease these days.

But even better than the dollar amt ( well, almost) …we had forgotten that the NB Premier David Alward recently moved in to the condo unit. He and his wife came to the event as “regular” people just out on their way to the Market on a Saturday morning. He stayed for about 2 hours chatting to people about anything , and more importantly listened to what we had to say about MS funding etc and the struggle with this disease. A very unexpected opportunity to spread the word about MS. Thank you Kim and all the great folks at Aberdeen Towers!

PS Kim and I did not coordinate our outfits...must be a sister thing...

And the lucky winner of the Jewellery Raffle is...

Marlene Boucher....ticket sold by team member Heather McNally. Thanks to everyone who bought and sold tickets..it enabled us to add $750 to our Team total.There are only 18 days until MS Walk 2011 and we are hard at work raising more money in the final weeks.

Kim's Aberdeen Fundraiser is this Saturday, May 14, and she has already received a few donations from people who are unable to attend. We have lots of treats ( of course my world famous date squares) and coffee to serve to those who drop in for a chat...it's nice to spread the word about life with MS and also have fun and food.

Mike has started another Lotto for May and the pool will be divided between Team Crazy Legs and a lucky winner. These are always popular and someone usually wins a big amount of cash..and so does the team!

Trevor has several more 50/50 draws at work, people seem to love them and keep asking for more, so makes his job a little easier! We have had a lot of miscellaneous  donations trickling in and hope to have more in the next few weeks.

I noticed on the MS Atlantic facebook page that we are # 6 in Atlantic Canada!!
